Arduino powered LED proximity responsive lighting tech.
The problem with accent lighting is that there's too damn much of it most of the time. Vegas never shuts off, nor should it, but who wants Vegas Strip lighting in their neighborhood or back yard?
Here in the Tucson desert we have great night skies. Part of the reason is Kit Peak National Observatory. Over the decades, night sky radiation in the city was managed to ensure that our light levels didn't intefere with observing activities. Since the Hubble Space telescope, our local restrictions seem to have been reduced. Nonetheless, I and our flora and fauna, like light in moderation and only when needed.
So, I am making movement responsive accent lighting that, in my mind, avoids the resort feel and is responsible to nature.
